There are about 3 different types of Kangaroos in Australia. A description of a kangaroo is that it can come in many colours such as red, grey, brown, and a very light grey which is almost white. Kangaroos have long tails, small heads, big ears, legs and arms. There legs are huge and there arms are small.
The Kangaroo is a Marsupial and a Mammal because when there young are born they are born in a pouch. It is a mammal because it is warm blooded and it provides milk for its young.
A kangaroo can be found all over Australia the Eastern Grey kangaroo is found mainly in the Eastern side of Australia. The Red Kangaroo is found in the Central Parts of Australia were the deserts are and where there is arid. The Western Grey is found in the southern and western parts of Australia. Kangaroos are mainly found in the grasslands, woodlands/forests, deserts, shrub and mallee scrub.
The kangaroos cope with heat by licking there arms to keep cool, staying underneath trees in the shade also keeps them cool. Another way that kangaroos keep themselves cool is by digging into the ground until they get to cooler soil then they lay in the hole and the soil keeps there body cool.
Kangaroos eat all different types of grasses, leaves and shrubs. The kangaroo is not an endangered animal people say that the kangaroo is an over populated animal. Which means that there are to0 many in Australia.
To find and conserve water first the kangaroo finds water by memory or smell. Once it has had its water the kangaroo will then conserve their water so they don't dehydrate and die. To conserve water the kangaroo will stay in shade in the day and go out at night, but it is not a nocturnal animal. The kangaroo also does not sweat which helps it to keep its body fluid high.

Emu
The Emu is another of Australia's famous animals. It also can be found on the Australian coat of arms. Now onto the important infoemation:
The emu is a very fast running bird which cannot fly. It has big feet, a long neck, small head and its body is covered in feathers. Emus are very special animals because they can't fly, they have double feathers and the emu is found on the coat of arms. The colour of the emu is a very light brown towards the bottom of the body then as it gets closer to the top it starts to get darker. But some emus may be different.
An emu is classified as a bird because it lays eggs and has wings even though it cannot fly.
The emus habitat is mainly in desert areas or dry ares of Australia. But the actual habitat of an emu is in grassy plains, forest or areas out in the open.
Emus are very lucky bird even though their wings don't allow them to fly, they use them to keep themselves cool in the heat.
The emu manly eats flowers, fruits, grasses, seeds and insects.
This animal is not an endangered animal. It is a well populated animal that can be found in most places in Australia.
If an emu finds a good place that has enough food and water for them for a while they will stay around that area. That is how they conserve water they just stay near it. Because the emu can go without water for 2-3 days the emu they go an search for water to drink, also some foods that they eat may provide them with fluides to keep them going.

Wedge - Tailed Eagles don't really need to conserve water because they are able to fly to find water quickly if need. This animal is not an endangered animal. Sometimes farmer or people looking after animal may want to harm this animal as it kills their animals. But it does have a special rule where a human cannot kill this bird because it is a protected species of bird.
